Alyssa is by far my favorite oc ive had. ever since i first made her around two years ago, she has been a unique and interesting character of mine, and i hope you love her as much a i do!.
she has changed a lot over time and i am proud of how far she has come ♡
Childhood: She was born into an abusive household on jan 15th 1978. Her mother drank and used drugs while Alyssa was in the womb, thankfully, she was born without many issues. She was usually left alone in a dirty and dangerous home with no food while her parents were out partying. The rare times her parents were home, the would abuse her, manipulate her, and put her in very dangerous situations. When she was nine (1987) cps was called by a neighbor due to concerns about the household. She was quickly taken away, and spent the rest of her childhood going between random foster homes and mental hospitals. She was very unstable due to the abuse and neglect brought on by her parents. She started heavily drinking at 12. Teenage years/pre-equanimity At 14(1992)While staying at one of the foster homes, the people who were caring for her at the time bought her a scholarship to an arts school, after she showed a lot of interest in singing. She went, not that she really wanted to.. on the first day she was approached by someone with tan skin and short black hair. (Carmen)“Hey, you look cool haha can i like hang out with you for now..?” Alyssa froze, she didn’t expect anyone to be talking to her, and she was not used to socializing with people her age. She thought long and hard. Was yes an ok response? “Yes..” she mumbled her and carmen hung out the rest of the day, and carmen introduced her to Valentina, a girl she had been friends with since elementary. The three of them soon became pretty close. They spent their high school years together. Alyssa learned a lot about singing and music. They graduated in the class of ‘96 and parted ways. Alyssa had nowhere to go. She could always stay at one of their houses, but she had too much to think about to remember a stupid phone number. She spent her time wandering the streets from 18-20 (1996-1998) amd quickly got into drug usage. She soon lost all hope, never expecting much to come from her sad life. Meeting the band Carmen had recently moved back to la and was driving around, when they noticed the shell of alyssa, wandering aimlessly. They hesitantly picked her up to give her a place to stay. But things were…different between them. A friendship that once blossomed with love and trust now had a thick black fog all around it. They dropped her off at val’s house, and left. Val, generally being a much more caring person than carmen took good care of Alyssa for a few weeks, while she lied around, too depressed to do much of anything, suffering from withdrawals. Carmen came around once in a while, but mostly just scowled at Alyssa’s new shell. Alyssa was able to sort of regain her footing, being in an actual house, (and being contact with a new dealer..eugh..) and carmen soon moved in with them (with val’s rich ahh family and all, she was able to afford a MASSIVE house, so there was really no point in carmen living alone. Alyssa would pass the time by partying and singing (and of course her more..questionable ways to pass time..) Carmen admired her singing, despite their hatred for who she had become. She proposed the three of them start playing music together, considering val also played bass. One day at a party, when she was 21(1999), while blackout drunk, alyssa met Zeke and slurred out that he should join their band after hearing he also played guitar, he agreed enthusiastically, as he was jobless (Lol) before this. No they were all together..but they needed a beat..and vals house had one more bedroom to fill…they put up ads that they were looking for a drummer..and Fennik was the only one to respond. Thankfully, he was GOOD. He joined, and him and alyssa quickly fell in love (which improved alyssa’s health quite a bit) the band was all together now.(carmen came up with the name equanimity:3) Equanimity This is the time that the comics take place so uh do i have to explain? They release lots of albums and get rich and famous woohoo alyssa starts to get worse and worse again Death She died in 2006 (thus the title of the comic haha) after many failed suicide attempts she finally succeeded, the band was devastated and disbanded yeah i’m tired of writing this lol
