the history of hype!2006 and how we got to here

hype started all the way back in the summer of 2023. back then, my art was..worse. anyways i drew carmens original design. it was very uninteresting and they had no lore. It wasnt a huge deal to me, i just drew her occasionally. few months go by, and i draw alyssa for the first time. she had green hair and was named "amaris" (looked kinda similar to emmie, actually) at the time carmen and "amaris" were my only two characters. i decided to draw the two of them together and include another character too (val) at the time, they were all relatively unintersting and had no cool design features or anything. eventually i decided to give them some lore. (btw it was NOTHING similar to what it is now) something to do with them at a haunted boarding school or something, idk pretty lame trope with how i formatted it. again, the were all so boringgg, except "amaris", she stood out to me and was by far my favorite. eventually, i changed her name to alyssa cause amaris didnt fit her even the slightest bit. summer of 2024 rolls around, and i honestly forget all about them for a while, only really drawing them when i was all out of ideas. then school starts again and I am inspired to pick them back up again. i completely redo the lore and redesign all of them. (alyssa had a more definite design, personality and was just overall more improved and polished, val got her blue hair taken away and curlier hair and became the goth queen we know today, carmen became SCENE, got super long hair and raccoon extentions) The lore was made into what it is today. in like october or so, i was writing alyssa's lore on a PEICE OF PAPER by HAND (i was fucking stupid i guess, the alcohol got to me frfr) and i realised..the band doesnt have a drummer. HOW TF CAN YOU HAVE A BAND WITHOUT A DRUMMER. i also was like "alyssa 100% has a boyfriend that she's absolutely obsessed with. thus, fennik was introduced. his name wasn't actually fennik when i first made him (forgot what it was though) but eventually one day i accidently typed his name as fennik and it stuck. december 2024 was very eventful for hype. my sketchbook at that time was full of doodles and comics about them, and i really figured out their dynamics and personalities. i felt like something was missing though...here comes zeke! our stupid idiot alcohlic rythem guitarist. the band was complete now. i also made the characters for prettyguts that month, but that's unrelated. finally, it was 2025. through out that year i became absolutely ADDICTED to drawing (as well as weed🤑🤑) and improved so fucking much. january-march i was in a very bad mental state and didnt really work on hype at all. in april i came up with the name hype!2006 while high as fuck. i eventually got medicated, and my mental health improved enough to start drawing things other than edgy shit, and worked on hype more. i wanted to DO something with these characters. they were all i thought about. i remembered being a child and spending all day making stupid comics. so i began making hype!2006 chapter one in may 2025. it was complete in june 2025 and i continued working on more and more chapters. thus, hype!2006 was born.
